# Documents

> Keep your resumes and cover letters ready to go, close to the rest of your search, not buried in a folder somewhere.

## What Documents is for

Most job seekers keep their files scattered, a resume on the desktop, a cover letter in downloads, an old version somewhere in Google Drive. Documents fixes that by keeping your application files inside Rolvelio, where you actually do the work.

Two libraries:

* **Resumes**
* **Cover Letters**

## File rules

Documents is intentionally lean:

* PDF files only
* Maximum file size: **5 MB**
* Up to **3 files per library**

That's not a limitation, it's a nudge to keep only the versions you're actively using. A smaller, cleaner library is faster to work from.

## What you can do

* upload a new file
* rename a file
* download or open it
* delete it
* mark a resume as your favourite version

## What to keep

You don't need a large archive. For most active searches, this is enough:

**Resumes:**

* one general version
* one tailored for your current search direction
* one specialist or backup version if you need it

**Cover letters:**

* one strong reusable base
* one or two versions tailored to current target roles

If you're constantly swapping files in and out, the fix is usually better naming, not more storage.

<Tip>
  Name your files clearly and specifically. "Resume\_final\_v3.pdf" is not a name. "Resume\_product\_2026.pdf" is.
</Tip>
