The Interview Prep System That Actually Works

The Problem With Typical Prep

Most candidates memorise answers to "Tell me about yourself" and a handful of behavioural questions, then wing the rest. This leaves too much to chance. The candidates who consistently perform well in interviews treat prep as a system, not a cramming session.

Build Your Story Bank

Collect eight to twelve career stories using the STAR format, Situation, Task, Action, Result. Choose stories that demonstrate leadership, conflict resolution, failure and recovery, cross-functional collaboration, and measurable impact. A well-chosen story can answer a dozen different questions depending on how you frame it.

Research the Company Properly

  • Their product, use it if possible, have an opinion about what could be better
  • Recent news, fundraising, product launches, leadership changes, layoffs
  • The team, look up your interviewers on LinkedIn before the call
  • The role, map every bullet point in the JD to something in your story bank
