The Versioning Problem
Most job seekers tailor their resumes for different roles, companies, and industries. But without a system, you'll inevitably send the wrong version to the right company, and you won't know you did it until it's too late.
Most candidates maintain 3–5 resume versions but have no system for tracking which version went where. Here's how to fix that.

Most job seekers tailor their resumes for different roles, companies, and industries. But without a system, you'll inevitably send the wrong version to the right company, and you won't know you did it until it's too late.
Use a clear file naming convention: [Name]_[Role]_[Date].pdf. For example: ArnaudLebon_SeniorPM_Mar2026.pdf. Store all versions in one place, and when you submit an application, note which version you used in your tracker.
The most important habit is connecting each application to the exact resume version sent. This ensures you can pull up the right version before any interview, and it prevents embarrassment when a recruiter references something from a version they received but you've since changed.
